The Baie-Comeau port of call is located in the Manicouagan-Uapishka UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The landscapes of Baie-Comeau were formed by the retreat of the glaciers giving the region an incredibly rich fauna and flora. Part of the Canada New England cruise itinerary, Baie-Comeau is nicknamed the region of the pioneers because of its many industries such as forestry, hydroelectricity and aluminum.
